The North American Poker Tour (NAPT), sponsored by PokerStars.net , was a grand experiment that proved to be a success beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. Launched at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in January,2010, the NAPT started big and never looked back. It was here, where Harrison Gimbel became the youngest-ever winner of the PCA, and the first NAPT champion. From there, the excitement headed to Las Vegas and the famed Venetian, where Tom Marchese walked away with top prize. The sprawling and awe-inspiring Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut was home to the third stop, where Vansess Selbst, on a break from Yale Law School, was crowned champion.
Although the impressive first season of the NAPT just closed out its year in Los Angeles at the Bicycle Casino – when it handed Joe Tehan the championship trophy, it already has its sights set on eclipsing Season 1 with an even more amazing Season 2!
In 2011, players can expect stops at several of the venues that made Season 1 so memorable, such as the Mohegan Sun and the incomparable Bicycle Casino, as well as look forward to exciting new stops and events. Everything is expected to be bigger and better – the playing fields, prize pools and unbridled excitement!
With the launch of the NAPT, PokerStars.net has once again brought a whole new dimension to poker, helping turn it into a truly global sport.
